Joe Ferrari, PRESIDENT-ELECT
Joseph G. Ferrari has served as Oxford Township Treasurer since 1992 and was just re-elected to a fourth term. During his tenure, he has sat on numerous township boards and committees, including being instrumental in the establishment of a local transportation authority that services both the senior and disabled population. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Oakland University, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Oakland University, graduated from the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University and earned his Certified Public Finance Administrator professional designation. He is currently teaching Intergovernmental Relations at Oakland University.
Ferrari has authored many articles for various municipal magazines, such as the Michigan Townships Association and the Planning and Zoning News, including the pros and cons of tax abatements and how to run a successful tax collection. He has also presented and co-presented for the MTA on the tax-collection process and how to implement the new SET collection law. He previously served MMTA as Secretary, Treasurer, and now is President-Elect.
