Janice Thele, VICE PRESIDENT 

Janice Thelen was elected to the office of Treasurer of Watertown Charter Township in 1998.  She has served her township as a member of the Parks and Recreation Committee, the Zoning Board of Appeals Committee, the Planning Commission, the Elections Committee, the Capital Improvement Committee, the Emergency Service Review Committee, the Heritage Festival Committee, the Southern Clinton County Utilities Management Authority Board of Directors, as well as a member of the Looking Glass Regional Fire Authority Policy and Personnel Committee, currently serving as their recording secretary.

In January 2004, Janice was appointed by the Michigan Municipal Treasurer’s Association to fill a vacant position on the Board of Directors.  With this appointment she became the chair of the MMTA Legislative Committee. During the October 2004 MMTA Annual Fall meeting, she was elected by the membership to the MMTA Board of Directors, retaining the position of Chair of the Legislative Committee, and serving as Secretary.  She is currently serving as Vice President.

She has served the MMTA as a member of the Education Committee, Fall Conference Committee, Winter Workshop Committee and the Newsletter Committee. 

In December 2004, Janice was elected to serve as a Trustee for the  MBIA-Class Board of Trustees.

 Janice is a member of the Michigan Township Association.  In 2004, she has worked with MTA members of Ingham, Clinton and Eaton Counties, to showcase their communities during the 2004 MTA Annual Conference held in Lansing, Michigan.

She has served her community as a member of the Clinton County 4-H Council, a member of the Community of St. Jude Education staff, as well as the Mid Michigan Girl Scout Council.
