2021 MMTA in the U.P.

MMTA in the U.P. provides in-depth information on treasury issues facing municipalities with a special focus on the Upper Peninsula and northern lower Michigan. This year's session will be an online program allowing you to see, chat, and ask questions of the presenters and other attendees. You can also attend with no video, or simply call in to listen to the presenters.

Topics this year will include:

  • Treasury Snapshots: speaker(s) from Michigan Treasury will review special programs, including: DNR PLTS (how municipalities should report and distribute), qualified forest exemptions, escheating unclaimed property, and recreational marijuana payments.
  • Electronic Transaction Options: Bob Valentine from First Bank and Kim Goethe of Flagstar Bank will review options for processing electronic payments such as receiving and making payments, how Point and Pay or Invoice Cloud integrates with your other systems.
  • Filing Requirements: What's Due and When. This popular topic will be presented by Rachel Piner, Treasurer of the City of Williamston and MMTA Board Member and Treasurer. 
  • Treasurer-to-Treasurer: this panel of treasurers (Tara Peltoma, City of Crystal Falls, Paul Linn, City of Ironwood, Melanie Camps, Iron County, and more) will allow for plenty of questions and discussion for topics of your choice. 

MMTA in the U.P. will provide 3.25 points of education towards your MiCPT or CPFA renewal.
