Why Join

The MMTA is dedicated to providing a forum for our members to exchange ideas and concepts. Our objectives are to provide education and information for the professional development of our members, encourage the exchange of ideas that fosters understanding and cooperation between public treasurers and public officials, and inform members on pertinent legislation.

Membership benefits include access to all of MMTA's training opportunities: the ability to register for and attend Basic or Advanced Institute (municipal members only), Fall Conference, Winter Workshop, MMTA in the UP, Treasurer-to-Treasurer discussion panels and online training programs. Only members may earn the state certification, the MiCPT, or Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer designation.

Members also get access to the member-only section of MMTA’s website, which includes a searchable membership directory, job postings, awards and certifications, archived meeting minutes, archived Listserv messages, and more. Members also have access to the MMTA Listserv forum, which is an active resource used by hundreds of MMTA members.

MMTA is led by a volunteer Board of Directors who have a hands-on approach to guiding the organization by leading each of the educational programs as well as each committee. MMTA also has Association Managers who handle the daily administration of the organization. Contact us any time with questions or feedback.
